There are a lot of places offering jet skis around Orlando, and from the outside they can all look the same. They are not. The difference between a great ride and a disappointing one usually comes down to a few details you can check before you book. Here are the 8 questions we would ask if we were in your shoes.
1. How many real reviews do they have?
A 5-star rating means little with only a handful of reviews. Look for a large number of recent reviews on Google, not just testimonials on the company's own website. Luxe has 3,500+ five-star reviews from riders on Google, Airbnb and more.
2. How far is it from where you are staying?
"Orlando" can mean a 15-minute drive or a 45-minute drive. Check where the ride actually starts compared to your hotel. Luxe rides just minutes from Disney and the Lake Buena Vista area, and your exact meeting point is in your confirmation.
3. How new are the jet skis?
Newer Sea-Doos are smoother, quieter and more reliable, and they are easier for first-timers to handle. Ask what year and model you will be riding.
4. What is actually included in the price?
Some prices look low until fuel, life jackets or photos are added at checkout. At Luxe, rentals start at $130 per hour per jet ski and include the jet ski, fuel, life jackets, a safety briefing and free pictures and videos.
5. Is there staff on the water with you?
For first-timers especially, it matters that someone is close by if you have a question or need help. Our crew briefs every rider and stays on the water during your ride.
6. Who is allowed to ride?
Rules vary by company. At Luxe, drivers must be 18+ with a photo ID, and passengers 5 and up can ride with an adult. Drivers born on or after January 1, 1988 need a Florida boating temporary certificate. Here is how it works.
7. What happens if it storms or plans change?
Florida weather changes fast. Ask about weather rescheduling and the cancellation window before you pay. Luxe monitors conditions and helps you reschedule for bad weather, and you can cancel 48+ hours ahead for a refund or credit.
8. Is it a real local business?
